RETAIL THEATER IN THE FOYER AT PUB 201308 MARCH
A theater to get people creatively active.
Today we spend more time watching television chefs, decorating reality shows and angry carpenters, than we do to create with our own hands.
Archie Grand shows how you can easily be creative with things we all have at home, such as, newspapers, magazines, scissors and glue.
There are few things that can make a person feel so satisfied as creating something yourself.
Why create, why aspire to inspire? 20130103 JAN
So to tackle the rather frentic christams sales and the doosing mood of HBO re-runs in abundance.
I decided that it was time to bring my scissors and sketchbook collages into the public arena.
I had a notionn that if only one person would do something not connect6ed to shopping, some other person would notice.
The plan was rather simple, position myself in the stream of shoppers. Create an obstacle!
A physical obstacle, me myself a trunk, some scissors and a sketch book. An obstacle but also a door into a different world.A place where you can creat your own wellbeing/happines/belongg/fun
I JUST HAD TO CHECK WHATWAS UNDER THE CHRISTAMS TREE 201207 DE

Summer's End201214 OCT

No flowers to plant,
No garden to tend,
As summertime lazily
Comes to an end.
It's time to sit back
and deliciously savor
The beauty of the season
and the fruits of our labor.
Farewell to summer;
for autumn make way,
With this last celebration
We call Labor Day.
ICONIC RELATIONSHIPS. 201207 OCT
Cathedrals of Commercialism 201201 OCT
In a time now long lost, There was emerging classes of people; with time and money on their
hands at the turn of the previous century, Industrialism, capitalism and great infrastructure created
a new freedom of spending; both with your own time and your own money.
To celebrate this newly found spiritualism of freedom and consumer power. Temples had to be built!
At this time in history, craftsmanship and exotic materials existed in abundance. And the architects
and artisans where schooled in the spirit of the renaissance and the enlightenment, ready to manufacture
the new sanctuaries. New chapels to guide and bless the masses. Architects, artisans and capitalists
shaped some of the most intriguing and magical buildings ever constructed in the history of man:
The great department store. TheDepartment store was a shrine of exoticism, dreams, fulfillment,
joy, magic, style, status, and ready made goods for affordable prices.
I shop therefore I am free!
One can in hindsight, say that these structures of spiritual commercialism have not always managed
to elevate the mind of people.
But they do leave some good advice on home interior style: Ambient light from above and/or north
combined with electrical light at different height levels in conjunction with matt and glossy natural
materials –wood, brass and crystal. Make a subtle and inspiring living space.
INDIRECT LIGHT II 201221 SEP
Another master of the indirect light was Edward Steichen, In these images it is not the direct flash light that is of
importance but the reflected light; bouncers walls and white sheets of paper all make a marvelous world of shades
new shades, light –human soul-
INDERECT LLIGT 201214 SEP
Its friday and Im in love. In love with indirect light, What is sometime lost in todays straight on
iphonephotographed world is the the indirect, the light or the feeling of something reflected by
another object a wall a landscape or a feeling. In this light our fantasy can move freely just like
Peter Pans shadow. The state of an object is never set when portrayed in indirect light.
It lingers, and we need more of that in a binary world.
CHAMPAGNE. 201210 SEP
When it is all a bit gloomy, the 70s, 80s & 90s will just have to point out the way forward.
BOLD PRINTS IN HARPERS BAZAAR.201202 SEP
I found these vivid, bold and intelligent prints in an old Bazaar article about American top designers from the 1960-1980.
ART IN IN A NOTEBOOK. 201226 AUG
Among the great artist notebooks: Peter Beards work from Africa alway deserve recognition. Vivid,
strong and provoking. They serve as a reminder of a continent and wildlife in brutal transformation.
All spiced up with a true sense of the aesthetical. So beautiful but oh so lost to the modern world.
BIRTHDAY! 201222 AUG
Henri Cartier-Bresson bridged the old world with the new, for more than 40 years he was a student, a
diplomat, a traveler, an investigator, a reporter, a historian. With his Leica he participated in the art,
political, and social movements that would move twentieth-century culture from the old to the modern
world. Today is his birthday, Hurray Hurray Hurray Hurray!
INTERIOR TIPS FROM GREY GARDEN.201219 AUG
In these images of Grey Garden please note:
Line of sight, the ambiance in each room as it goes into the next room and into the next room.
Change if hue and value in color.
Floral patterns, walls and curtains all help to create style and a fundamental feeling of security.
One is a bit hidden in the house.
Number of lights in each room, and their position.
A great number of different object, books, photo frames, writing material, lamps and flowers
filled the rooms without making them cramped.
Fairly dark walls as a great backdrop to lightly colored, doors and curtains.
WHO IS IN CHARGE?201216 AUG
Frankly it is not what´s on your mind it is about what soon will be on your mind. Left right and centre, there
are sirens scream out the message of the Grim brothers candy house. Stay vigilant, Your own shadow might
be on twitter soon...
RED. 201212 AUG
My eyes are Red, my cheeks are Red
From top to the bottom I am Red
My nerves are Red, my passions are Red
There is something that makes me Red.
FEMALE ROLEMODEL201209 AUG
Looking for a female role models in todays society, might be complicated. Unless you enter the area of
entertainment. In show biz there are a number of bright, smart, sassy females, who take what the deserve,
and a bit more. Get all the media coverage they need and deserve. But for the rest it's an absence is in abundance.
We can dwell on the reasons for this, but one is certainly a rather uninspired and aloof journalistic cadre.
So I have found a role model of mine: Amelia Earhart, aviator and author of several bestselling books. A woman
that only did what she liked to do, as so many men before her. And making money on it as well…
Is it harder today to be a free spirited woman and in the limelight than it was some 70 years ago? Have the
social development of female emancipation ruined the medias interest in adventures women selling a journey
outside of the classic family or the entertainment industry?
Moods of summer.201205 AUG
Most people tend to leave both their brains and wardrobe at home when they set out for that summer holiday.
But instead of the glamour and equilibrium we might need and certainly deserve. Most people are herded into
a frenzy of mish mash food, multi lingual bars and H&M, Zara and abbreviation coffee Co´s.
My advice would be to bring your best nightgown or summer suit. Set of to any medium sized medieval southern
town that is not listed as a world heritage, Make your self comfortable in a local bar, drink champagne and
pastis for some weeks.
This will surely give you the status of royals in the eyes of the indigenous people and the occasional tourist.
Voila! Iconic status for everyone is back at the table.
